Here are some answers to the most common questions we in the Tropical Department get asked:


Q: When do I water my tropical plant(s)? Once a week?
A: There is no set rule for when a tropical plant requires water. The best 'rule of thumb' is to periodically dig into the soil with your finger about 1 inch down. If the soil feels cool, the plant is still moist. When the soil feels dry, water it accordingly and moderately; you do not want to drown your plant. Once you get to know your tropical plant, you will begin to recognize how the weather and the different seasons play a big role in when the tropical plant needs watering next.
